Really Cool Portable GPS Tracker

Update: Somewhat annoyingly Think Geek have stopped selling this GPS tracker, however there is a huge selection of alternatives over on Amazon.
This must be one of (if not the) coolest spy gadgets I’ve ever reported on. It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.
The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.

Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

Tiny USB Car Power Adapter

Juice your gadgets without losing a cup holder

One of the best things about technology is watching new devices shrink in size as time goes on. Remember how big cell phones were back in their infancy? They were practically bricks and could only barely make phone calls. Now we have phones that are handheld computers and cameras, and handheld computers and cameras that occasionally make phone calls when the stars align. *cough* ANYHOO, one such device that is finally shrinking to a manageable size is the car power adapter.
Say goodbye to the clunky chunks of plastic and metal that blocked the driver's side cup holder! The Tiny USB Car Power Adapter fits snugly into the cigarette lighter, jutting out just enough for you to be able to pull it out. But you won't want to do that! You'll be thrilled to have a charger that you can use to power up your phone or phone-like device, mp3 player, or other electronic wonders. You'll be even more thrilled that you can still fit your giant +32oz Vessel of Caffeine into your cup holder for those long drives. Perfection.

Tiny USB Car Power Adapter
  • Tiny USB power adapter for your vehicle
  • Fits snugly into your cigarette lighter
  • Charge your phone or other USB devices in your car
  • Super-low profile: doesn't jut out and block cup holders
  • LED power indicator

Shakers – The speakers that Let you Feel the Beat

Shakers! They have got it the apt name. This is a special audio device that provides you the ultimate entertainment. Yes this can do more than what even high end home theatres cant do. Unbelievable? It will not be if you read the rest of this post.

Shakers are a low frequency effect (LFE) producing device that could be installed on your seat. With this you can really feel the impact through out the body rather than just hearing it. Wondering how does it do it?
The LFE device creates low frequency sounds which get passed directly into the body of the person sitting on a chair or couch to which it has been attached. In order to duplicate the sensation of explosions, bullets or ground-shaking special effects just turn up the subwoofer. Installing this is quite simple than you imagined.
Installation requires attaching the LFE to the chair’s underside. As can be imagined, this kind of placement can be rough on the furniture and so should be approached with care. Fortunately, many LFE manufacturers provide detailed instructions and offer mounting brackets and other accessories to ease the process.
The cost of an LFE ranges from tens to hundreds of dollars, depending upon cost of an amplifier and accessories for mounting and even wireless kits to eliminate the wires running from the main amp to the one powering the LFE.
It is very much assured that once you have the chance to sit on a chair where a LFE (low-frequency-effects) device was installed, it’s unlikely you’re going back to normal seating. Happy movie watching!

Bluetooth Tooth is Painted Black

Yeah! A Black coloured Bluetooth transmitter. This is about a tiny Bluetooth transmitter that fits in your tooth.  This could be the creepiest of all Bluetooth headsets in the town. Why?

It goes into your mouth and sits on your tooth. To get it working what you have to do is stick it  into a small crevice in your tooth like a filling. It bears no battery and is powered by even smaller solar panel. How it works?

It picks up the vibrations in your teeth and transmits. That is indeed a brilliant way to catch what you say. But who will like to have a small thing sticking in your mouth. Often  toothpicks may put some trouble as well.
Since Bluetooth became a standard feature on most phones, people have been coming up with all sorts of new headsets. The ones that fascinate me the most are the ones that use the vibrations from the bone in your jaw to detect what you are saying. To me it’s cool and creepy at the same time. Less creepy though, than this new Bluetooth Dental Insert Microphone.

Do Not Buy Fake 32 GB Sony Vaio Pen Drive

Last week I came across the following drive that claims to be from Sony. It is in silver black colours and has markings saying it is a 32GB / USB 2.0 flash drive.

Being an editor of a gadget blogs like this, I should have come across such a device earlier. Unfortunately, I didn’t. Then I researched about it and found this page.
This drive looks awesomely original and even shows you it can hold 32GB when connected to PC. It will even copy data. However, when you try reading back the same data, you will learn that it became corrupt. This drive just writes some binary code instead of the data and shows that as much space is in use.

Backtracking EMAILs

Tracking email back to its source: Twisted Evil
cause i hate spammers... Evil or Very Mad

Ask most people how they determine who sent them an email message and the response is almost universally, "By the From line." Unfortunately this symptomatic of the current confusion among internet users as to where particular messages come from and who is spreading spam and viruses. The "From" header is little more than a courtesy to the person receiving the message. People spreading spam and viruses are rarely courteous. In short, if there is any question about where a particular email message came from the safe bet is to assume the "From" header is forged.

So how do you determine where a message actually came from? You have to understand how email messages are put together in order to backtrack an email message. SMTP is a text based protocol for transferring messages across the internet. A series of headers are placed in front of the data portion of the message. By examining the headers you can usually backtrack a message to the source network, sometimes the source host. A more detailed essay on reading email headers can be found .

If you are using Outlook or Outlook Express you can view the headers by right clicking on the message and selecting properties or options.

How to Trace IP Address Location From Email, Gmail, Hotmail, MSN & Yahoo Mail

We will explain how you can track your friends IP address. You will need to do some social engineering in this trick. You will need to ask your friend to mail you something or send him some mail to which he will reply.

Now there can be two scenarios. Your friends/victims IP can be static or dynamic.

Scenario 1: Static IP

Static IP is assigned by the ISP to a specific user, that is, you have one unique IP whenever you log on to the internet. In this case, here's how you can find the IP. We will consider three major email services, viz. gmail, yahoo and hotmail.

Gmail:

Open the mail you have recieved from your friend and click on the down arrow to the right of the reply button. Now click on Show Original.
You will get to see the complete headers of the mail from which you have to find the IP from which this mail was sent. Mostly in case of a static IP, the IP is shown as in the figure

3D Printer can Clone your iPhone

Cool! Isnt it? Surely this is going to be the future. 3D printing or rapid prototyping can transform a blue print on your computer to a real object. Sounds impossible? Not anymore.Photobucket

This technology creates a real object by building up a succession of layers. The raw materials are bonded together by fusing it with laser or by using alternate layers of glue. Doesn’t the technology sound to be new
Actually it dates back to mid 90s. And the futurists then even predicted that it could be a common stuff found in every home. Not yet until its price fall down to $500.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 – The True iPhone Contender

Finally, a phone that is better than iPhone in features and performance. Sony just introduced their newest phone with Touch screen called XPERIA X1. The X1 would be the first product in the XPERIA series that Sony plan to introduce in coming months.
A New Experience
I believe that is what meant by XPERIA. A new experience in smart phones that all started with the iPhone. The standard feature of such phones is a touch screen with loads of features. This phone also has such a screen and it is believed that Sony developed a new user interface called “panel” for the Windows Mobile OS 6 exclusively for this particular phone.

LG LH2300 Touch Screen Web Phone

Can Cameras Fly?

Not with the wings of course. But with a flying stick. Yes the same one that you used to play in your child hood days. This conceptual gadget is actually a camera embedded in a flying stick. Rub it off to air and let it take pictures from a height.

What you need to do is roll it from your palms and let it go. Flying Stick automatically takes pictures at set intervals. Pictures from above are prettier than ones from ground.

No specification about memory and resolution are finalised as this is in a concept phase. Surely the imagination includes face detection and other high end camera features.  Only time can tell how much feasible is it.

Google Energy – Driving to a cleaner Earth

Google has already created a lot of buzz with the recent launch Google Buzz. It looks as if Google wants no stone unturned for it. Be it the social networking or anything for that matter. The latest is that Google is now authorised to sell energy just like your electricity provider.

The Retro Duo NES/SNES Games System and the Retron 3 Bring Old Cartridges Back from the Dead

True gamers are pretty hardcore and I bet you’d be hard pressed to find one who hasn’t held onto at least half of the old consoles they’ve burned through even if they don’t work properly anymore. Indeed, many often dust off the old consoles just for fun when they’re feeling a bit nostalgic but when that console finally craps out on them, they’re left with few alternatives but to scour eBay and Amazon for used consoles and hope that they work when they arrive.
